So I do not like chili normally. I have had many different types and have made it myself plenty of times but just thought it was okay. So I put myself on a mission to make the ultimate chili that would make even a chili hater like me become a chili lover. I believe I found it too! I could not get enough of this chili and ate it as left overs also!
The three recipes I got my ingredients from:
10-Alarm Turkey Chili
King of the Chil'
Turkey and Hot Sausage Chili
My Sunday Funday Chili Recipe
1lb Ground Turkey
1lb Ground Hot Italian sausage (if you can only find the links, remove the meat from the casing)
1 1/2 cups of portabella mushrooms
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
1 medium red onion
1 small can of chipolte peppers in adobo sauce (may be called adobos)
1 can black beans
Large can of tomato sauce
2 cups of baby carrots
1/4 cup of sliced jalapenos
1 can sweet corn
1 can red kidney beans
1 can chili beans
1 tbsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tbsp minced garlic (or more depending on how much you like garlic)
1/2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tbsp chili powder
12 oz Lager beer
1 oz Dark Chocolate (at least 70% cocoa or more)
First brown the ground turkey and Italian sausage in a pan.
Meanwhile dice the onion and peppers. Slice the mushrooms and chipolte peppers. Rinse the black beans clean.
Now put all the of the ingredients except the chocolate in a large stock pot over Medium High heat.
Simmer covered for 2-3 hours, stirring every 20 minutes.
Take the pot off the heat and fold in the dark chocolate.
After 5 minutes the chili is ready to eat! Don't burn yourself because you are so excited to dive in = )
3 Recipes & A Home Cook
You ever look up a recipe and can't decide which one will taste better? Well I have solved that issue. When I cook I find 3 recipes and take the elements that I prefer from each one to create my own recipe. Sometimes I even throw in my own ingredients.

A little bit of this and that.

Fried Pickles
Before Snooki made these famous on the Jersey Shore, I was eatting Fried Pickles! Thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law Candace, I first fell in love with these wonderful bite size fried snack at Razzoo's in Texas. Ever since then I order it at every restaurant that offers it on the menu. I got tired of not finding the same quality of fried pickles that Razzoo's offers, so I decided to find a recipe.
The three recipes:
Bobby Flay- Food Network
Homesick Texan
Take that Razzoos
My recipe:
1 pint sliced dill pickles
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, plus 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tbsp hot sauce
1/2 to 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon of black pepper
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Vegetable oil
In a skillet put 1/2 an inch to an inch deep of oil. Heat to 350 on medium heat. (When you place a fork in the oil, bubbles should come off the fork immediately)
Meanwhile, Dry the pickles with a paper towel. Use 2/3 cup of pickle juice and mix it with the egg, buttermilk, 1 tablespoon flour, and 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce. In a ziploc bag mix the rest of the flour, cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
5-6 at a time place the pickles in the egg mixture. Then shake them up in the flour mixture in the bag until fully coated. Fry in the oil approximately a minute on each side. Let them dry on a paper towel. EAT THEM!
Optional: Dip them in ranch dressing. Yum!
